Zanzibar Big Game Fishing, formerly Ras Nungwi Fishing, was the first professional big game fishing operation on Zanzibar. Established in 1998, it now operates as a division of Zanzibar Watersports with three professional deep sea fishing boats.  We have always been able to offer half and full day charters and now with the launch of Haraka in September 2006 we can provide clients with three and five day charters to a variety of world class fishing grounds.  Two of our boats, Suli Suli and Timimi are based at Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel and Haraka sits in the deep water in front of Nungwi village.  Transfers to the boats are available upon request.

Zanzibar Fishing closely follows all International Game Fish Association rules and recommendations.  We actively encourage catch and release fishing unless it is the fisherman’s first ever catch, his biggest to date, or if it is likely to be an East African, All Africa or world record.  All of our boats have a selection of rods, reels and lures and a choice of different baits depending on what you are trying to catch.  Our captains can help you choose which would best suit your style and the conditions on the day.

Why not eat what you’ve caught? The expert chefs at Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel can cook the fish for you in five different ways to get your taste buds going.  If you are staying elsewhere you have the option of having the chefs fillet the fish for you so you can take some back to your hotel for a nice evening meal.
